French vs American Education System

If you are American moving your family to France, or French and moving your family to America, this can help eliminate some of the confusion. Remember that Canada and America have essentially the same system with the same ages and appropriate levels & grades. In Canada, middle high school or junior high school are not always present, so many people will go to elementary school from grade 1 to grade 8, then go directly to high school. Nevertheless, the following chart simply summarises the major differences between the French and North American systems.
